Enhance your knowledge of gerontological supervision at Oct. 16 webinar

Improve staff satisfaction with detailed tips, strategies from ECSG consultant

Ann Burack-Weiss

Gerontological supervision is more than a set of techniques for ensuring staff productivity. Applying generic principles to the specific demands of aging services leads to an enhancement of practice skills and increased job satisfaction of workers and management alike.

To help Alliance members stay up-to-date and knowledgeable, the Alliance's Executive Consultant Select Group (ECSG) is offering Meeting the Challenges of Gerontological Supervision: A Step by Step Guide to Establishing and Maintaining the Best Model for Your Agency. The event is sponsored by the Alliance's New Age of Aging initiative. Participate in this complimentary webinar Thursday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. CST.

Participants of this interactive webinar will learn about:

  • assessment of staff training needs and capacities,
  • uses and misuses of a range of supervisory modalities,
  • assessment of individual practice/learning styles, and
  • selecting supervisory strategies to meet varied practice/learning styles.

Ann Burack-Weiss, co-founder of ECSG member SBW Partners, will present this webinar. Burack-Weiss has taught two generations of students at the Columbia University School of Social Work and consults widely on family caregiving, supervision, and staff development. Her latest book is the second edition of Gerontological Supervision: A Social Work Perspective in Case Management and Direct Care, which she co-authored.
