New Age of Aging Leadership Academy Conference for Mentors

Foundation and Institute of Geriatric Social Work at Boston University
Wednesday, September 10 – Friday afternoon, September 12, 2008

This event will enhance and support learning for New Age of Aging mentors in
gerontology nonprofit human service and encourage innovation through networking
and communication among leaders in the field.
Preview of Conference Highlights
Presentations and panel discussions by prominent invited speakers will include:
− Special keynote address from Dr. Cynthia Stuen, senior vice president of Lighthouse International and chair of American Society on Aging.
− Scott Miyake Geron – director and associate professor, Institute for Geriatric Social Work, Boston University School of Social Work
− Linda T. Nguyen–director of civic engagement, Alliance for Children and Families,
Washington, DC
− Edward jj Olson, president, E jj Olson & Associates
− Barbara Silverstone and Ann Burack-Weiss – SBW Partners, mentor training consultants
− Local and national foundation representatives
Conference registration is free of charge to NAA mentors.
Up to two mentors per agency will be fully reimbursed for travel and lodging.
Meals Wednesday morning through Friday afternoon will be provided.
