Partners

The Alliance for Children and Families’ New Age of Aging initiative would not be possible without the generous support of our partners.

The Atlantic Philanthropies, a limited-life foundation, is dedicated to bringing about lasting changes to the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people through awarding grants to the organizations that serve them in order to increase their reach and impact, and advocate for social change.

Institute for Geriatric Social Work at Boston University
The Institute for Geriatric Social Work at Boston University (IGSW) is dedicated to improving the quality of social work practice with older adults. A leader in providing state-of-the-art, high quality online training in aging, IGSW programs are designed especially for busy social workers, case managers, and other social service and health professionals.

The New Age of Aging partners with IGSW to provide Alliance members with low-cost access to IGSW's online certificate in aging program. Those interested in enrolling in the online training should visit the IGSW website for more information.

SBW Partners
SBW Partners knows that community service agencies and health care facilities need workers with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet the challenges of a growing aging population that is more diverse than ever before. Professional workers need "best practices" information as well as enhancement of clinical assessment and intervention techniques. Non-professional workers need a practical understanding of what their clients are going through - and a repertoire of helpful responses. SBW Partners is a fee-for-service firm devoted to meeting these goals and advancing social work practice in aging. Services are provided by the firm's founding partners, Dr. Barbara Silverstone (pictured top right) and Dr. Ann Burack-Weiss (picutred bottom right) and a group of associates - practitioners, administrators, educators, and researchers - all of whom are recognized professional leaders in the field.

SBW Partners provides “resident trainer” and ongoing support for New Age of Aging mentors to enhance the mentoring initiative.
